DINITROL 6050 Two-component polyester trowel sealant
Characteristics:
-easily sandable even after several days
- well tensile, pore-free application
- good filling power
Application area:
Dinitrol 6050 is a newly developed product in the field of polyester repair sealants and allows the professional to work risk-free and quickly on all common substrates. Dinitrol 6050 adheres reliably to normal steel sheet, galvanized steel sheet, fire galvanized steel sheet, primed and filler coated surfaces, sound coatings of two-part acrylic lacquers (matte sanded), fiberglass reinforced plastic parts and hard polyurethane.
Applications:
Substrate preparation:
Thermoplastic paint coatings: Sand. Roughen the substrate (improve adhesion), clean the substrate well, e.g. with silicone remover. The substrate must be dry, non-greasy, healthy, rust-free.
Two-component varnishes: Sand to a matt finish, remove dust and grease.
Galvanized sheet metal: Clean with thinner or ethyl acetate.
Fire galvanized sheet metal: Clean with NC thinner or silicone remover.
Aluminum substrates: lightly sand (adhesion tests should always be performed due to the different aluminum alloys).
Processing:
Mixing:Mix intensively the required amount of Dinitrol 6050 sealant with the required hardening paste - approx. 2% or 3%. The red colouring of the hardening paste makes it possible to clearly distinguish the intensity of mixing.
Pot-Life:
The amount of hardener, the temperature of the material and the room determine the processing time (see table below).
Applications:
Squeegee the plastic, metal or rubber as thick as desired onto the prepared substrate.
Cleaning work tools and implements:
Wash immediately with nitro thinner after processing, as polyester sealant is insoluble in solvents once hardened.
Drying:
Thicker layers cure faster than thin layers (exothermic curing process).
Grinding:
After curing - approx. 25 minutes - the surface is easy to sand. Transitions to existing paint coatings are seamless for all substrates.
